THE INTIMIDATORS - Brett Kimmorley can’t wait to rumble with the Doggies
By Tony Adams
More than a decade of bitter battles against the Bulldogs convinced Brett Kimmorley that this was the club he wanted to play for before his decorated career ended.
The 261-game veteran will wind down his playing days with two seasons in the blue and white – and has no doubt he has joined the most intimidating club in the NRL.
"I have been around for a while and one thing I've always thought was that there is no club you want to play against less than the Bulldogs," the 31-year-old says.
"They have had good times and bad times over the past few years but that doesn't seem to matter – they are always tough and hard and come at you with everything they have.
"They are a club you never liked to play and from my point of view, that was a big plus when I was weighing up whether to join them or not.
"It will be good for me playing behind such a tough and strong pack and I'm excited – I can't wait."
A veteran of 12 winters in the big league, Kimmorley has plenty of pressure on his shoulders to whip the Bulldogs back into premiership contenders after they endured the season from hell in 2008.
“That is going to be exciting for me and it can only help with your enthusiasm to be around blokes who are going to be so hungry and genuinely excited to be there.”
